Scouting is Fun

The 10th Council – Wide Jamborette was held at Cabcabon, Banga, Bayawan City last June 19-24, 2007.

The Boy Scouts who joined the said jamborette went to Cabcabon last June 19, 2007 to prepare their tents. Each Boy Scout was so happy. Their feelings can be determined on their faces. Eventhough, the sun was so hot; the Boy Scouts were so noisy causing the disturbance of the neighboring campus. Even I, Benito Albia, Jeorge Ponce Jr. and other members of outfit # 1 – Crew # 1 was disturbed.

In the morning our outfit advisers got mad on us. They warned all the Boy Scouts that if they will still behaved the same as last night last night, all outfit # 1 will go home. So, our outfit behaves and obeys our advisers.

On the other hand, the 10th Council – Wide Jamborette was formally opened last June 20, 2007. It was also the beginning of the different activities. Our beloved city mayor German P. Saraña, Jr. talked on how to produce Bio-diesel. He also demonstrated the uses of bio-diesel. He also explained to us the importance of Waste Management and Organic Fertilizer Production.
Then, in the afternoon of June 20, 2007 and the rest of the days, the Base Method which consists of First Aid, Knot Tying, Kite Making and Flying, Arnis, Orienteering, Emergency Preparedness, Fire by Friction, Cooking rice in a Bamboo Tube, Scouting Game 142, and the Challenge Valley were tackled.

Among the mentioned activities, many Boy Scouts put more interest to "Challenge Valley" because it was more challenging than any other activities. This activity consisted of commando crawled, climbing the mountain with the use of ropes, spider web, rope walk, blind folded, obstacle of the tires and crawling under the barbed ropes.

The Sub-Campfire was performed last June 21, 2007. During the Sub-Campfire of Sub-Camp 6, Bayawan City Division got the 2nd place while Mabinay High School got the 1st place.
On the other hand, the Grand Campfire presentation was still won by Mabinay High School. During the presentation, we were able to watch different cultural numbers from different delegates.

Then on June 23, the Boy Scouts joined the community service the "Tree Planting". The Boy Scouts planted trees at the back of the City Jail.

The scouting ended giving all the scouters happiness for they have done unforgettable adventures.
